Selhurst Nursery School
History
Established in 1993 as Selhurst Early Years Centre under social services control, the centre was transferred to the education authority in 1998. Since designation as a Children’s Centre in May 2007, a range of services for young children and their parents/carers have developed alongside the nursery classes. Now known as Selhurst Nursery School, the school Federated with Crosfield Nursery School on 1st September 2016. Governance is provided through a single Governing Board with responsibility for both schools.
Our School
As one of Croydon's five Maintained Nursery Schools, we are committed to providing affordable and accessible, high-quality education to children between the ages of 2 and 4. We currently offer 78 part-time places for 3-4 year olds and a further 38 places for 2-3 year olds in an integrated provision, equipped with a large outdoor space and designated on-site Forest School area.
We are a fully inclusive setting, and work closely with a range of professionals to ensure children's needs are identified early, so that appropriate support can be put in place to enable children to reach their full potential.
A reflective and long-standing staff team enables strong relationships to develop with families across generations. Being co-located with a Children's Centre Hub helps to ensure that families have direct access to a wide range of support services for them and their child. Selhurst is so much more than just a Nursery School for your child; it is for you and your whole family.
Visits to our school are strongly encouraged, so please do get in touch and come and see the wonderful provision that is on offer.
